Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the perception of human rights violations on the perception of social discrimination among the elderly, focusing on the mediating effect of the service experience for the elderly.

Methods: This study was conducted with dental hygienists working in dental hospitals and clinics in Busan and Gyeongnam.

Results: As the perception of human rights violations for the elderly and the experience of serving the elderly increased, the elderly's perception of social discrimination decreased(p<0.001). The mediating effect of dental hygienists' service experience for the elderly in the relationship between the perception of human rights violations in the elderly and the elderly's perception of social discrimination was partially mediated and significant.

Conclusions: Therefore, this study is meaningful in that the perception of human rights violations for the elderly by dental hygienists reduces the perception of social discrimination among the elderly through the experience of serving the elderly, and provides qualitative treatment and services for the elderly's oral health care.
